Open and close files in Photoshop CS3

This article talks about how to open and close files in Photoshop. There are two methods of opening files and two methods for closing files.

Start Photoshop

Method number 1 for opening files -- File/Open

Select "Open" from the File Menu

Find the directory with your picture. Select the picture and hit open.

File Open My Pictures or any directory with your pictures

Method number 2 for opening files -- Drag and Drop

Click on the image and keep the mouse button down. Move the mouse into the Photoshop area and release the mouse button.

Opening multiple files

Either draw a box around multiple images and drop them into Photoshop, or in the File/Open window,select multiple images by keeping the control key pressed while clicking on the filename.

And now, to close files. Again, there are two different ways to do this.

Method Number 1 for closing files is to select Close from the File menu.

Method Number 2 for closing files is to click the x, or close button, on the photo's window. Don't confuse the photo's window with the Photoshop closing button.
